Press release: New 30,000 sq/ft Glenrothes self storage facility opened in March 2006 by local MP John MacDougall
The new Glenrothes self-storage facility is aimed at both businesses and members of the public. Fife Group has invested some £500,000 in purchasing and converting a former training centre at Eastfield Industrial Estate into state-of-the-art secure, alarmed units.
A wide range of units have been accommodated within the 30,000 sq ft site, which also includes offices, the latter being leased out to a marketing firm.
Fife Group Managing Director John Kilgour advised "Our all new, custom-built heated facility at Telford Road , Glenrothes, is particularly user-friendly, with customers being able to access their own locked self-contained unit, any time during working hours."
Fife Group's latest expansion ties in well with the family-run company's other operations, which encompass warehousing and general storage services, commercial property rental and removal and distribution services.
Mr Kilgour adds: "Having our own fleet of removal vehicles means we can carry out anything from small domestic jobs to large office moves, and offer customers short or long-term storage at our newly-opened Glenrothes units."
Fife Group - known until recently as Fife Warehousing, established in 1963, has close ties with The Russell Group, who operate transport and warehousing services in many parts of the UK.
Other Fife Group Developments over the past two years include:

- Refurbishment of 43,000sq/ft & 24,000sq/ft racked warehouses at Frances Park for all types of storage business
- Purchase of 73,000sq/ft warehousing & office complex at Pitreavie Business Park, Dunfermline, where we provide general warehousing and will be constructing another Self Store facility to turn the site into a storage centre for all types of storage business.
