Things to consider when storing household items:
- Fridges and freezers require ventilation, so leave doors open.
- Use packaging materials to protect your goods.
- We sell cardboard boxes, bubble wrap for breakable items, tape, tissue paper, protective covers for soft furnishings, wardrobe boxes for clothing etc.
- Mirrors and pictures should be wrapped in bubble wrap/cardboard and stacked on their ends.
- It is useful to make an inventory of your goods and label boxes for identification, so that items can be easily located when required, plus always mark if fragile.
- Fill boxes fully to avoid them collapsing, but make sure you can lift them.
- Plan how you are going to store goods in your storage room with heavier items at the bottom.
- Avoid placing heavy items on mattresses, sofas etc.
- Items that you may require access to when in store should be kept near the entrance.
